At Krambu, we don’t just build data centers—we build ecosystems.
We’re proud to announce a strategic partnership with Elkhorn Products, bringing their revolutionary Elkhorn 970 hydrovaporization cooling system to our future data center sites across the United States. This marks a major milestone in our journey to redefine what a data center can be: not just a utility, but a regenerative asset to the communities around it.
Why Elkhorn? Why Now?
After extensively testing multiple cooling technologies, Elkhorn’s system stood out for its energy efficiency, scalability, and its alignment with our industrial symbiosis mission. Unlike traditional Freon-based chillers, the Elkhorn 970 uses a water-based system that eliminates synthetic refrigerants entirely, simplifies permitting, and slashes energy consumption by up to 50%.
This means we can build faster, reduce operational costs, and—most importantly—minimize environmental impact.
Transforming Waste into Value
Krambu’s approach to industrial symbiosis turns conventional data center limitations into new opportunities. The Elkhorn 970 enables us to recapture waste heat and repurpose it for local agriculture, aquaponics, and energy generation—creating a positive feedback loop between high-performance infrastructure and sustainable community development.
“We’re not just cooling servers—we’re powering ecosystems,” said Steve Wood, CEO of Krambu.
Higher Density. Higher Efficiency. Higher Impact.
Next-generation AI hardware is pushing power requirements to the limit, often exceeding 600kW per rack. With Elkhorn’s cooling efficiency, we’re able to support these extreme compute loads with unmatched density and reliability, giving our clients more performance per square foot—while meeting rising ESG and sustainability standards.
“Krambu’s decision to adopt our technology validates its real-world scalability and environmental performance,” added Heather Jones, CEO of Elkhorn Products.
Starting in Washington. Scaling Nationwide.
We’ve already begun converting our Washington state data center to the Elkhorn 970 system. This site will serve as the blueprint for future builds, helping us accelerate deployment timelines and deliver powerful, sustainable infrastructure for AI, HPC, and beyond.
As global data center spending is forecasted to exceed $1.1 trillion by 2029, Krambu’s early adoption of transformative cooling technologies positions us to lead the industry—economically, environmentally, and operationally.
